About the Psychological Guidance and Counseling Center

 “Renma” Psychological Guidance and Counseling Center was established in 2024 with an official license from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the decision of the President of Raparin University. We believe that in today’s world of high pressures and rapid changes in the way people live, we all need help, care and empowerment from every walk of life. Renma Psychological Guidance and Counseling Center strives to provide a safe and professional platform to achieve mental health, thought, behavior and ultimately good mood in a friendly atmosphere. 

With the help of its staff of experts and university professors in various fields, “Renma” Psychological Guidance and Counseling Center helps its clients by taking into account individual differences and following the steps of: identification and assessment, counseling and treatment, skills training and empowerment. To experience greater emotional, behavioral and social maturity and benefit from happier and healthier lives. The center provides its services to its clients and specialists with a professional, ethical and non-judgmental attitude in the three areas of treatment, teaching and research. 

Our mission

 “Renma” Psychological Guidance and Counseling Center is ready to serve in the fields of psychology and counseling to improve and promote the mental health of clients. 

Introducing the services of the center: 

• Psychotherapy for personality disorders, anxiety, depression and so on.

• Family therapy, marriage counseling and premarital counseling

• Child and Adolescent Psychology

• Conduct psychological examinations, measurements and assessments

• Academic and study counseling (academic progress, solving academic problems, getting to know all local and foreign universities, choosing a field of study).

• Career counseling (assessing people and identifying strengths and weaknesses according to job position, style of resume writing, interviewing and selection, preparation style (BP), creativity and entrepreneurship).

• Training, teaching and conducting educational workshops (conducting educational conferences and seminars, specialized workshops and special training courses for the general public and staff of administrations, centers and organizations).

• Provide professional neurofeedback services in the fields of memory enhancement, increased concentration and treatment of mental illnesses.

Our vision

“Renma” Psychological Guidance and Counseling Center as the first official guidance and counseling center in Iraq, especially in Kurdistan, which provides guidance, counseling and psychological services in the country.

Based on rich culture and values ​​as well as committed, skilled and innovative human capital, “Renma” takes into account the current and future needs of students, clients and society while emphasizing its social responsibilities and values ​​all beneficiaries, especially the referents.

“Renma” Psychological Guidance and Counseling Center strives to serve its clients, including citizens, individuals, organizations and companies, and relying on the ability, knowledge and tirelessness of its qualified staff, valuable and innovative services with the best quality and use of new technology It offers. Satisfaction of citizens and clients is the most important fundamental value on which the Psychological Counseling and Guidance Center relies.

Objectives

The need for counseling and psychological services centers in order to provide desired services to students and other individuals in society is relatively obvious and in fact the establishment of these centers can be considered the first and most important step to prevent, diagnose and reduce psychosocial disorders.

Key objectives and strategies:

• Empowering the community in addressing behavioral, cognitive, family, marital, emotional, educational and vocational problems.

• Improve the level of psychological and educational indicators with the approach of prioritizing prevention over treatment.

• To meet satisfactorily all the basic needs of the community in counseling, psychology and psychiatry.

• Increase the level of compromise and adaptation among citizens, clients and society.

• Implementation of extensive research projects in psychological and social fields

• Train and educate qualified counselors and psychologists

• Develop a standalone physical space for the Counseling Centre

• Develop counseling branch in colleges, dormitories and institutes

• Develop counseling services using modern technology (such as providing telephone counselling, sending SMS)

• Efforts to increase special funding for the Counseling Centre

• Equipping the counseling center with hardware and software

• Create an appropriate platform to harness the capacity of students, professors and staff to improve the mental health of students and prevent psychosocial harm.
